| The aim of the project is to create for
the first time a platform for establishing and developing regular
cooperation between people in the twin towns Bremen and Gdansk.
This forum is moderated by the Culture Centre Lagerhaus (Bremen)
and the Pomeranian Foundation Sunflower (Gdansk). It shall enable
the German and Polish participants of the bilateral project
to get to know each other, to exchange experiences, to communicate
ideas, and to initiate lasting cooperation in sustained common
activities in all relevant societal sectors.
Participants are small and medium non-profit organisations
from Bremen and Gdansk, the so-called NGOs, which are interested
in establishing a steady and long-term international partnership.
These Non-Governmental Organisations separately would not
be able to establish bilateral relations. Within the scope
of this new platform we invite for each participant from Bremen
a corresponding participant of the same kind from Gdansk and
vice versa, that is we connect organisations from the two
twin towns which are active in the same field, set up similar
priorities in their work and are interested in international
cooperation.
The state of the common projects and their results shall
be published on the Internet in order to attract and recruit
prospective participants. We explicitly invite youth groups
and youth associations to join our project and actively participate
in the process of shaping it. We aim at the common further
development of all participants/partnerships and a deeper
mutual understanding of the people and their respective cultural
environment in Poland and Germany.
