Bremen - Gdansk
NGO-Forum
1st meeting
on the occasion of 30 years town twinning
10-12 February 2006
All together now: Fruitful work in high spirits.
The first HB-GD NGO-ACT in Bremen was a successful event
The first reunion of the Bremen-Gdansk NGO-Forum took place
10-12 February 2006 in Bremen. The 29 Polish participants
who represented 16 organisations arrived on Friday evening
in the Youth Hostel. Here the welcoming meeting was held which
was a cheerful prelude to a conference which was organised
on the occasion of 30 years town twinning. This first common
seminar aimed at the initiation of a steady and long-term
international partnership between NGOs which are active in
the same field. On the German side there were 26 participants
who represented 19 associations. The conference place for
the working sessions on Saturday and Sunday morning was the
Guesthouse "Teerhof" which is located near the Youth
Hostel in the middle of the Weser river. There the participants
were seated at five tables (Education, Water/Sport, Culture,
Ecology/Traffic, and Diverse Projects) where they were introduced
by a respective moderator, started a general discussion on
the common subject, and continued the conversation in bilateral
"tandems" which developed their particular project
ideas. You can read the protocols in the section "ngo/projects"
on this website under the heading "meetings & results"
which form a part of the project descriptions.
Thanks to all people who furthered the success of the meeting
through translation and interpretation, moderation, catering,
and many other kinds of support that turned the effective
conference event into a joyful happening which you can see
in our documentation below. Special thanks to Albert Caspari
and Gerd Röhlke for the many pictures they took in the
course of our marvellous Polish-German get-together.
