Activity:
Studying different vocal techniques from different music traditions, searching for original folk songs and performing traditional music mainly Polish and Ukraine ones, but also from other European and non European countries.

We, Casa della Musica, a private Music-School under my leadership, (I'm leading different choirs in Bremen), met participants of the choir Les Amis and the music-ensemble Bianco fiore from Gdansk under the leadership of Magdalena Wencka-Warzawa, who unfortunately wasn't able to join the group of travellers.

The polish and our choir are both interested in singing techniques of different cultures and in finding tandem-partners to organize workshops and concerts for each other.
We want to try to organize a workshop of typical German singing techniques in the middle ages or something similar and the polish choir has someone who wants to teach us Polish singing traditions and songs. So our aim is organizing a workshop with participants of both choirs German and Polish. We also try to organize a concert in Bremen where they and we can show some of our songs and also sing some songs together.

Due to the fact that we are a music school there is a lot of infrastructure that can be used when the Polish musicians are in Bremen, we have many rooms with pianos where they can have rehearsals and where the workshop can take place. We also have many contacts to different churches to organize concerts.

We are really looking forward to having closer contact with Les Amis.

Casa della Musica meets ZdZdlo

An outstanding experience was the meeting of members of the two choirs and their conductors. Singing together and speaking of the willingness of learning different techniques went through the whole trip. And we are very thankful for listening to the ukrainian folksong-singing in a private concert. We visited different places where singing-concerts take place, like the hall in the townhall and different churches to find out which one is suitable for our repertoire.
As the leader of Bianco fiore and Les Amis won´t be able to travel until 2008 we decided to make an exange with these choirs in 2008. The project that is going to take place in February 2007 will be in Gdansk with participants of three choirs, one german, one polish and one ukrainian. There will be three workshops with regional singing techniques, where all choirmembers can take part in and there will also be the possibility for giving concerts.
