Summary
of the project
International Cooperation Group Gdansk – Brema
|
|
| |
International cooperation between Poland
and Germany is visible in numerous dimensions and different
levels. In the particular interest lies agreement among NGOs
and ordinary people, which objectively seems the most significant
factor of cooperation. Project “International Cooperation Group
Gdansk – Brema”, which lasted from 1.08.2005. to 31.07.2006,
has been successful because its participants managed to reach
agreement both in the human relations level and common understanding,
which can be seen as the universal language of the NGOs. Today
we know more about each other, we understand our goals and we
have common realistic plans for the future. Leaders of the project,
Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus in Bremen and the Pomeranian Foundation
Sunflower in Gdansk, thanks to the financial support from Stefan
Batory Foundation and Polish-German Cooperation Foundation,
created a platform for effective communication and agreement
between NGOs. Our project results not only in breaking barriers,
but what is more important, the true eagerness towards future
meetings and continuous cooperation relations in bilateral Polish
– German tandems.
During over 12 months of hard work we managed to initiate 12
new bilateral crossborder projects (in the fields: culture,
ecology, tourism, health, sports and leisure, education and
social affairs), which will be executed in 2006 and 2007. Some
of them have already begun. What is more, internet web site
has been created, on which all the crucial information about
the project, its details and participants can be found. Still,
the best example of the following initiatives that have been
commenced by our project, is undoubtedly the idea of International
Cooperation Group Germany – Poland – Ukraine. This is a networking
project that includes both existing partners and an additional
country, which pretends to become a further UE member. Inviting
Ukraine side to the partnership, let us get the wider perspective
and obtain new impulses for different activities, in addition
to extending the group of potential partners. Moreover, it gives
better opportunities as far as the effective financial support
searching, e.g. together with others foundations from Stefan
Batory Foundation, as well as both Polish and German governmental
and local founds.
To sum up, it has to be said that the degree of innovativeness,
organizational effectiveness, combined with professionalism
of the project, as well as the impressing number of 34 project’s
participants, including both organizations and institutions,
are definitely worth to remember. What is more, all the factors
mentioned above guarantee the high standard of the Brema – Gdansk
partnership.
